March-2007 What's brewing - Customers dig deep to save inn

VILLAGERS in Bollington, Cheshire took matters into their own hands when their local seemed certain to close.

A dozen regulars at the Church House Inn stumped up £5,000 each to take on the lease 18 months ago and paved the way for the pub for a new era.

The Church House has not looked back since. Today, it plays host to a wealth of charities and groups and hosts services on key religious dates.
