CAMRA Whats Brewing - Pubs Good For you

A DRINK and a meal in a well-run pub would improve the lot of elderly people living in isolated communities according to North Yorkshire County Council's Beverley Maybury.

Maybury, who is assistant director for adult social care operations, has urged communities and pub owners to work together to support vulnerable people in rural areas.

Speaking at a Pub is The Hub event at the Fox and Hounds in Bullamoor, North Yorkshire, Maybury said visiting a pub, combined with a good meal is a cost effective way to improve well being.
