CAMRA What's Brewing - Councils get behind pubs

MORE councils are including Pub is the Hub in their own rural regeneration schemes.

The organisation, which helps pubs diversify into other businesses, is now available in 21 council areas in England and Wales.

Pub is the Hub co-ordinator John Longden said "Six years ago when we started, local authorities were fairly anti-pub. But now there is the theory that if a pub dies, the village dies and the councils are far more willing to help them diversify."
